The Essential Medicine Cabinet Staple: Why Every Household Needs a Jar of This

Every household in America keeps certain medications in its medicine cabinet: Aspirin and Pepto Bismal are staples. Back in the 60’s and 70’s in middle America, cabinets would store Watkins Inhalant with its strong eucalyptus aroma that mothers would rub on their children’s chests and put into vaporizers; every medicine cabinet also included drawing salve produced by Watkins that was brown and gooey like its counterpart from another manufacturer – perfect for drawing an occasional beadwork!

When the Sisters created their inaugural batch of salve in 2014, they could not have predicted it would become such an integral component of household medicine. Yet when developing its formula they knew it had multiple applications; hence labelling it as multi-purpose CBD salve.

FEATURED PRODUCT CBD Topical Salve 8oz. is available now to purchase for $129.84 and contains 77.2% solid coconut oil infused with hemp, 14.5% beeswax, 3.8% liquid coconut oil infused with hemp, 1.6% Vitamin E oil and 1.5% calendula oil with 1.4% lavender oil for maximum relief and effectiveness.
Objective of Salve

Native American cultures have for generations (if not centuries) used cannabis liniment made from just rubbing alcohol soaked with plant matter as a remedy for muscle and joint discomfort, yet many continue using this way today. Sister Kate wanted something gentler on the skin with oils designed to maximize absorption.

Over eight years, topical salve sales by Sister Maria’s Sisterhood have consistently made up more than fifty percent of total sales. Even after expanding into pet supplies and CBD Plus (providing raw cannabis compounds), super strength oil, mushroom coffee products — with all these developments, topical salve sales remain paramount to sisterhood operations. Sister Maria notes wryly: “Customers only become disgruntled when we run out of large sizes of topical salve.”

The Sisters have always produced topical salves using traditional methods: handcrafted, spiritual environment and lunar cycles. Over the years they have also worked to enhance their salve recipe; the original formula remains, while ingredients may have been upgraded or modified accordingly.

At first, men complained of smelling of lavender; in response to this issue, Sisters introduced mint as an alternative fragrance. Later during a pandemic outbreak, sisters conducted experiments using higher quality beeswax; switching out vendors to optimize application experiences and drastically enhance application experience.

As soon as they received scientific evidence from Oregon labs regarding the resilience powers of raw cannabis compounds, the Sisters made modifications to their recipe to incorporate these powerful raw cannabis compounds.

Failures Taught Us Not to Deviate From Natural Plant Material
In their first year, the Sisters experienced difficulty maintaining THC concentration levels below.3% consistently. To help get around this, they attempted using CBD crystals from an Italian university; unfortunately it wouldn’t bind with coconut oil, separated and eventually formed an uneven sugar coating over their salve product.

Sister Sophia stated: “We learned through experience that isolating compounds isn’t always the most efficient way to use cannabis for medicine.

FEATURED PRODUCT
Our FEATURED PRODUCT, the CBD Topical Salve 4oz, can now be purchased. At $84.07 it contains 77.2% solid coconut oil infused with hemp (14.5% beeswax, 3.8% liquid coconut oil and 1.6% Vitamin E oil); 1.5% calendula oil (1.4% lavender oil).
Sister Kate recently conducted an in-depth market analysis of 25 CBD brands found on popular ‘best of CBD’ lists published in Los Angeles and San Francisco. A closer examination showed that nearly half did not offer topical CBD salve, thus discounting them from further consideration and leaving 14 companies including herself on this list (including her Sisters).

Of the remaining fourteen products, only half are supported by test results that demonstrate their potency claims. Even if such results exist, they might not be accessible at point of purchase and may only exist within private networks.

Only two out of the seven that did provide test results — Sisters and Go Green — had recent test results, dating as far back as summer 2021.

One might ask themselves whether the problem lies with no testing at all or irrelevant testing?

Questions the Buyer Should Asked
It is important to establish whether or not a salve company uses real plant extracts in their product, or just mixes oils from elsewhere?
If they mix oils from multiple sources instead, their salve should still be high quality but more reasonably priced; less work has gone into it overall.

Does the salve company produce it from cannabis plant or CBD isolate? Companies using isolate may boast that their medicine contains zero THC; however, that could indicate they’re using isolate and that may mean its efficacy will suffer; all CBD products tend to work more effectively with minimal side effects like headaches if even microdose amounts of THC are present – even at micro dose levels.

Are they testing regularly for potency?
A frequent lab testing program for potency is of crucial importance as tests become more sophisticated and can identify more medicinal compounds than ever.

Sister Sophia stated, “For years we purchased “organic” beeswax from a Sacramento company that tested clean every year; but in our seventh year ordering from them a pesticide appeared, contaminating an entire batch and forcing us to switch vendors; their “organic” stopped being such as we were already monitoring testing regularly as part of our activities; I don’t know how people manage medicinal batches without testing.

Sisters of the Valley is unparalleled when it comes to lab testing costs; their formula features raw plant medicine; and they are the only brand that employs trustpilot as an independent third-party manager for product and service reviews.

Removed from the list are companies with outdated test results; leaving only Sisters of the Valley and Go Green as companies posting current test results. Go Green’s formula does not contain raw compounds, while their oils do not meet absorption specifications, and no third party reviewer is used in their review process.

The Sisters salve is the complete package.

Why We All Care About Raw CBD
In Oregon’s final weeks of pandemic outbreak, scientists discovered the anti-bacterial qualities of raw plant medicine from Covid experiments with rats. Within months, Sisters changed their salve recipe to incorporate these raw healing compounds. As can be seen below in chart #12, acidic (raw) compounds increased with comparable increases in CBC and CBG content.

Cbd Salve Recipe Change Chart One reason we must all take heed in regard to raw compounds is because they contain individual healing compounds and also contribute to an entourage effect that increases overall resistance against infections and diseases.

CBDA According to projectcbd.org: CBDA’s raw botanical counterpart shows promise as a potential treatment option for cancer, anxiety, epilepsy and treatment-resistant nausea and vomiting.

CBG research is at an early stage. While more is known about CBG, doctors in Maine and California are already using controlled doses to treat pain, anxiety, sleep disturbances and autism symptoms.

CBCa While less is known about CBC than CBCa, this transformed compound is proven beneficial in treating depression and mitigating cancer treatment symptoms. Furthermore, CBC is also proven to promote brain cell regeneration while acting as an anti-inflammatory and pain reliever.

Studies are ongoing into the exact medical benefits of CBCa and CBGa compounds, but science has already declared their use to fight infection and increase resilience. While not much is known (yet) about how isolated compounds prevent disease, raw compounds definitely have attracted interest among scientists worldwide.

Customers Reported Successes
From day one, Sisters of the Valley has kept meticulous track of customer feedback and reviews in an excel spreadsheet. In their first years of operation, they launched a dedicated review website because laws would not permit product reviews to appear directly next to CBD products on a virtual store shelf; that’s because the FDA has decided that reviews constitute claims; for example stating someone used our salve instead of sleeping pills would constitute making such an assertion in accordance with FDA law.

Several years ago, the Sisters engaged Trustpilot to manage, host and share publicly their customer reviews. At first, product reviews weren’t allowed – only service reviews could be linked directly back to their store – all this presented as barriers. But over time this changed.

Sister Kate believes the pandemic made the world more real for everyone involved. Although we cannot legally advertise anywhere, at least we can show our reviews as part of their strategy – it’s an important first step.”

Examine reviews here and gain an impression that people rely on the sisters for pain relief. “Most negative reviews come from ex-Sisters or people opposed to our social-democrat politics,” according to Sister Maria.

Top Reported Applications and Uses for Sisters’ Multi-Purpose CBD Salve
Below are the most reported applications and uses for Sisters’ Multi-Purpose CBD Salve:

Arthritis – improve joint flexibility while providing pain relief.
Muscle Pain – CBD medicine absorbs quickly into muscles and bones for rapid therapeutic effect.
Skin burns and lesions – As this oil-based salve requires air for healing purposes, its use for wounds should be applied sparingly and only once a day. Burns should respond more quickly if applied quickly after exposure; furthermore it’s also effective against most mouth sores, sore noses from colds, blisters, toothaches, skin rashes – including diaper rash!
Agitation, Anxiety and Sleeplessness – When suffering from anxiety or experiencing panic attacks, massaging topical salve on temples or behind neck can have a calming effect. Also great when applied directly on upset babies’ arms for soothing relief as well as those suffering children or adults or chemotherapy patients.
Other Uses Sprinkling an abundance of sea salt on the top layer of salve in a jar or tin and leaving it for some time will allow that top layer to work as an attractive drawing salve.

When oil, grease or THC residue accumulates on your hands, using topical salve instead of soap and water will keep them soft and supple no matter the hard work they have been enduring.

Sister Sophia described the process by noting, “We do not operate like a factory but instead meditate and pray throughout. This healing work connects sacred energy directly to each medicine we create which then travels directly to those needing healing.”

Every jar we produce is handcrafted by expert artisans and lab tested before being approved for sale. Although this process is expensive, we take the necessary time and care in controlling its environment to keep it positive and pure for optimal results from medicine that respects nature and plants alike. We firmly believe all this work must take place for best results from medicine.”
